So how hard is it to ad video to your site, well by now most people are familiar with sites like YouTube, Vimeo etc that will host your videos for free. A chunk of those are familiar with the fact that those videos can be further embedded directly into their website by cutting and pasting a snippit of code but how do you get multiple video players like the one below into your site in a way thats simple and updates itself as you add new videos?

In the next post I'm going to walk you through the simple steps requirded to do this and do it quickly and easily (OK easily is a relative term when it comes to editing a web page).

For those who are already familiar with using YouTube and are simply wondering what the basics are to create the custom player here's the short version:

• Login and upload video to YouTube
• If you are only wanting some of your uploaded videos in your player then create a playlist and add the desired videos to it
• In the top right where you see your username there is a drop down menu, select Account
• In the central portion of the account page there is a light blue box with three columns of links, under more there is a link to "Custom Video Players" click it
• Click Create or Edit depending on if you are creating a new or changing your player
• Give it a name, description, color theme, choose layout, and select your content (ie select your desired playlist)
• copy the embed code into your site using a custom content module or advanced content module
• if using a custom content module you need to click the source button to paste the code, you can refer to our previous post on floating div tags if you would like to have text wrap around the player

That's the quick and the dirty version. From there you can upload more videos to YouTube and add them to your playlist and you are done.
